The Rev. Dr. Carl S. Fisher Foundation
The Rev. Dr. Carl S. Fisher, who was the pastor of the First Presbyterian Church of Johnstown from 1951-1978, was instrumental in the founding of the Presbyterian Home, which provides elder care. When the Home was sold in 2015, a portion of the proceeds was reserved for a foundation to carry on Rev. Fisher’s vision and mission. The new Foundation will help elderly people in Cambria and Somerset Counties maintain their quality of life by funding chair lifts, special medical equipment, and more. Local non-profit organizations, including churches, synagogues, and service organizations, can submit requests for funding on behalf of individual seniors.
